As long as the lever is left in open mode you can just wave your hand by the sensor to turn the water on/off at the temperature that the handle is set to. The control box under the sink allows you to enable or disable the sensor.
Also includes a cool feature that will automatically turn on the water when you simply pull down the spray head as long as the sensor is enabled and handle is in open position.
